Energy efficiency: the air works for us
When vacuuming, we initially only remove air. This is easy and hardly costs any energy. As soon as the straw opens to the atmosphere, air flows in and simply takes the liquid with it. Without any additional force.
Let's compare this to a classic pressurised system: not only do you have to build up enough pressure to move the liquid, but you also have to fight against the air resistance in the pipe system. It's like trying to blow through a blocked garden hose - pretty inefficient.
Control & safety: no overflow, no chaos
Another advantage is that you can control quite precisely how much fluid you take in when you suck. Our lung volume sets the maximum limit - more is simply not possible.
The situation is completely different with printing systems: Here it can quickly become too much. Once too much pressure is built up, and everything splashes out. Anyone who has ever tried to drink from a carbonated glass bottle knows the problem. There's no such danger with a vacuum - it always remains under control.
Flexibility: liquids also go round the corner
And then there is the matter of manoeuvrability. Imagine you want to pump a liquid not only in a straight line, but also around bends and even upwards. With a normal pump system, this can quickly become complicated. Gravity doesn't cooperate, the resistance increases and the pressure has to be really high.
With a vacuum system? No problem. Liquids can be easily transported over long distances, regardless of their viscosity. Whether water, fruit juice or the thickest milkshake - anything goes. And the best thing is that differences in height are no problem either. Just as we can easily suck through a drinking straw from the bottom to the top, a vacuum system can move liquids in all directions.
Conclusion: If you're smart, use a vacuum
The VACsystem® - definitely the smartest drainage system!
